For Ruben Poncia, street painting is an artistic challenge, and he likes the performance quality of it. He says that it takes the artists away from his lonely work in his workshop and puts him outside in the open, exposed him to not only to make the best artistic illusion in a limited time, but also entertains the people watching.

Born in 1969 in The Hague, The Netherlands, his initial interest was music; playing the guitar and harmonica in bands as well as recording work. In fact, he began repairing and making musical string instruments, like banjos, mandolins, guitars, and novelty instruments. Ruben considers this a hobby, but he's working on a project combining his paintings, instruments, and music.
