Born in 1970 in Western Germany, Gero Casper began his journey in the art of street painting at a young age. His earliest street painting dates back to 1986, and he quickly made a name for himself by creating promotional artworks for various companies and organizations across Germany and in several European countries. Gero's dedication to the arts led him to pursue higher education, earning a degree in "Diplom Kommunikationswirt" from the University of Arts Berlin in 2004.

Gero has participated in numerous street painting competitions in both Germany and Italy, showcasing his remarkable talent and gaining international recognition. Gero's artistry brought him to the United States for the first time to participate in the Sarasota International Chalk Festival in 2018, Venice, FL. Currently, he works as a freelance commission painter, illustrator, and print advertisement designer, blending his skills to create captivating visual experiences.

Denise Kowal first encountered Gero after being captivated by one of his intricate street paintings in Geldern, Germany—a stunning depiction of a man holding a fish, rendered with meticulous crosshatching and delicate detail in black and white chalks, set against a vibrant sky. The softness and purposefulness of his technique left a lasting impression.

This year marks his third journey from Germany to Sarasota, where he will contribute his talents once again. He will be creating a special painting for an auction fundraiser benefiting the festival artists, as well as a stunning street painting during the event, continuing to share his exceptional artistry with the community.
