The Sarasota Chalk Festival in Venice, Student T-shirt Contest has come to a close with over 100 students submitting artwork to support the 2014 theme 'Extinct and Endangered Species.' Applications came in from all over Sarasota and Manatee Counties.
"This is going to a tough decision this year because every student submitted a wonderful and thoughtful design," stated Denise Kowal, festival founder. The winner of the competition will have their design printed on the student T-shirts that are given to all students participating in the festival. The Student Pavement Art will be located on the Venice Cultural Campus off Nokomis Avenue in Venice.
Twelve designs will be selected and available for live printing during the Chalk Festival's weekend festivities - November 15 & 16. The sponsor of the event is Clothesline Creative, a local screen printing company. "Helping people showcase their talents and giving opportunities to be creative is what my business is all about," states Austin.
