The winner of the 2014 Student 'Extinct and Endangered Species' T-Shirt Contest is Em Andersen, a senior at the Manatee School for the Arts. Em chose the white bengal tiger that had rolled in chalk. Em has won a family membership to the Venice Art Center, $250 Clothesline Tees gift card and 5 printed T-shirts of her design. Her bengal tiger will be featured in full color on the T-shirt for the student pavement artists who will chalk at the festival November 15 & 16. It will also be available for visitors to purchase.

The contest was very difficult for the 5 judges because all the students submitted quality designs that represented the theme 'Extinct and Endangered Species.' "I am happy to sponsor the Student T-shirt Contest and work with so many talented artists," states Austin Kowal, owner of Clothesline Tees. "It was a tough decision because every submission was worthy of winning. Em combined the theme with the Chalk Festival and that caught the eye of the judges."

Eleven other students are winners and receive a T-shirt with their design printed in one color. Their designs will be available during the weekend at the Clothesline Tees live screen printing booth. Visitors are welcome to bring their own fabric or purchase a T-shirt to have any of the designs printed in one color for a small fee.
