The Sarasota Int'l Chalk Festival, a nonprofit cultural art organization, and the International Coordinator of Ephemeral Art Carpet Makers Associations (CIDAE) are pleased to announce the signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This collaboration marks a significant step forward in the promotion and celebration of ephemeral pavement art on a global scale.

The MOU establishes a framework for cooperation between the Sarasota Int'l Chalk Festival, renowned for its ephemeral large-scale chalk and 3D illusion pavement art events, and CIDAE, a leading international organization dedicated to collectively made flower carpet ephemeral art form. The partnership aims to enhance cultural exchange, support artistic innovation, and expand the reach of both organizations' unique art forms.

Under the terms of the MOU, the Sarasota Int'l Chalk Festival and CIDAE will collaborate on a series of initiatives, including:

  • Joint Art Projects: Development and execution of joint ephemeral art projects that will be showcased at international festivals and events.
  • Artist Exchanges: Facilitation of artist exchange programs, allowing artists from both organizations to share techniques, ideas, and experiences.
  • Educational Programs: Creation of educational workshops and seminars to promote the understanding and appreciation of ephemeral art among diverse audiences.
  • Community Engagement: Engagement in community outreach programs to foster greater involvement and support for ephemeral art in local communities.

Denise Kowal, the Founder and Director of the Sarasota Chalk Festival, said, “The synergy between our two organizations is powerful. By combining our strengths, we can push the boundaries of what ephemeral art can achieve and bring a new level of excitement and engagement to our festivals.”

“We are thrilled to collaborate with the Sarasota Int'l Chalk Festival,” added Vicenta Pallarès i Castelló, President of CIDAE. “This MOU represents a unique opportunity to highlight our traditions and talents, creating spectacular works of art that captivate and inspire audiences around the world.”

This MOU is expected to pave the way for future collaborations, enriching the cultural landscapes of both organizations and providing new opportunities for artists and communities alike.
