We need your help - For this year featured event the Sarasota Chalk Festival 501c3 cultural organization along with the dozens of festival artists and hundreds of volunteers want to secure the Guinness World Record in a BIG way creating the Largest 3D Pavement Art.
The international Sarasota Chalk Festival nonprofit was founded in 2007 and quickly grew into the most important contemporary pavement art festival in the world hosting the most renown artists and debuting the most advances in the art form than any other festival world-wide. It is a local community event put on by volunteers that has grown to become a global community of the best-of-the-best pavement artists that gather once a year to perform. It attracts upwards of 200,000 visitors.
We believe that this interactive and mind bending art will create lasting memories for all who participate. Visitors will be allowed to stand on the painting and have their photograph taken as they interact and become a part of the scene starting on November 14th till November 17th.
A documentary will be produced showcasing the entire process and thanking our supporters who made this world record a reality. The premier of the documentary will be shown at our closing event November 16th.

The painting will celebrate the festival's 2014 theme is 'Extinct and Endangered Species' by turning an average airport runway into an underwater abyss of endangered and extinct sea life and sea plants, and the center will be a Megalodon Shark. The Island of Venice where the painting is being created is the Shark's Tooth Capital of the World.
To make sure the illusion is dynamic and the geometry is correct, we joined up with Master Artist Kurt Wenner, the innovator of 3D pavement art, to design this 42' x 450' masterpiece that will total 18,900 sq. ft. Leading the team of over 50 local, national and international artists as well as hundreds of volunteers is Julie Kirk-Purcell, one of the first female pioneers of the 3D pavement art form in the USA.
