The City of Sarasota has waived the permitting fees for the Sarasota Chalk Festival 2012. The waiver represents about thirty-five hundred of in-kind value to the festival. The festival will still pay over ten-thousand dollars for services provided to the 2012 festival by the City of Sarasota.
The Sarasota Chalk Festival received a grant from the Sarasota County Tourist Development Tax Revenues. Each year the Sarasota Chalk Festival contributes significantly into our local economy and draws tourists to our county. Our artists alone fill up over 500 lodging nights during the festival.
