Traditional Pavement Artist

Joan Finn is a professional street painter. She creates large masterpieces on the pavement in chalk pastels. An art form originated in Italy around the 16th century, Joan discovered this art form at a street painting festival in Kansas City. Mesmerized with the art form. Joan researched, studied techniques, and worked to make each new work a challenge.

She has performed at several festivals since. Her chalk art performances celebrate an assortment of themes. She has ventured into the realm of anamorphic distortion and optical illusion. “I love the interaction from the public as I create my art. People young and old, from all walks of life, are intrigued when they encounter me at work on the pavement. Street painting has become my unique and very public, art form.”
